summer sizzlers in bloom

The Arboretum Terrace Garden in downtown Davis is a great place to see what looks good in the heat of summer. Go the website to see a location map for how to get there.

There are tables and umbrellas for shade and if you sit near the red flowers (autumn sages) in the back by the tall fountain you will see a hummingbird sipping nectar and big fat black carpenter bees bouncing from flower to flower. Plants in that area have also been planted to attract beneficial insects so important to conserve to help pollinate crops that become the food for our dinner plates.

The fountains make a nice splashing sound and the rumbling trains may entertain you. Great for a break and a little nature hit.
